Dr. Tariq Mahmood Invited to Speak at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Conference in Pakistan

Dr. Tariq Mahmood has been invited to speak at the Conference on Judicial Perspective of domestic and international arbitration in Pakistan, presented by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Pakistan branch.

This is the first ever Chartered Institute of Arbitrators conference in Pakistan and will serve as the inauguration of the formal operations of the branch, along with the governing board led by the Honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Justice Umar Ata Bandial.

Dr. Mahmood will be speaking on the panel discussion of “Arbitration practice, procedure, and process. What is the role of standardization?” and will focus on the global perspective of arbitration and ADR, primarily:

• Professional training and development of arbitration and ADR practitioners
• What is the importance of such training?
• What is the role of continuing professional development, attending seminars and courses?
• What is the importance of having membership of a global organization?
• What is the way forward for Pakistan?

Speaking on his participation in the conference, Dr. Mahmoud said:
